(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – During a recent press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced criticism from New York Post journalist Steven Nelson for seemingly sidestepping his attempts to ask questions, a practice he claimed had been ongoing for “two seasons.”

The tension escalated when Nelson, during the briefing, called out Jean-Pierre for her persistent oversight. However, Jean-Pierre’s response was swift and dismissive, as she retorted, “And I’m not calling on you today,” swiftly moving on to another correspondent.

Nelson didn’t back down, expressing his disappointment and suggesting that such behavior was not only disrespectful but also indicative of a disregard for the principles of a free and impartial press. He accused Jean-Pierre of effectively blacklisting a major national publication, an act he viewed as showing disdain for journalistic freedom.

Jean-Pierre, maintaining her stance, proceeded to redirect her attention to another reporter, emphasizing that she was opting for someone who hadn’t had the opportunity to ask questions for a considerable period.

Post-briefing, Nelson took to his X account to air his grievances further, underscoring the New York Post’s standing as the nation’s oldest daily newspaper with a significant circulation and online readership. He highlighted that it had been months since he or any of his colleagues had been acknowledged during press briefings, linking his comment to an article about the current administration’s alleged vetting of journalists at certain events.

When reached for additional comments, Nelson stated to Fox News Digital that he preferred to let his previous statements speak for themselves.

This wasn’t Nelson’s first clash with the corridors of power; he’s had several contentious encounters, including a direct confrontation with President Biden himself over purported unethical dealings with Ukrainian officials.

In another instance, Jean-Pierre overlooked Nelson’s question about a recent poll from CNN indicating a public perception of President Biden being potentially entangled in his son’s business affairs.
