(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – The Highland Project poll from earlier this month found that the approval rating of President Joe Biden in key demographics is slipping. According to the poll, only 69 percent of millennial and Gen Z Black Women approved of the country’s current direction.
The AIE’s Survey Center poll similarly found that only 21 percent of Black Voters under 49 years old were in favor of Biden being the party’s nominee. The Biden campaign is now going to need to take action in order to mitigate this trend.
Vice President Kamala Harris is going to visit a number of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) during her “Fight For Our Freedoms College Tour.” In a statement released this month, she referred to the importance of this generation on the country’s future and pushed for young students to take action.
BlackPAC executive director Adrianne Shropshire also noted the importance of young Black voters for the Democrats, pointing out that it was not possible for them to win an election without their support. She added that young black voters with their culture and activism help drive the electorate, and it helps unify the Black community.
However, there are also those who have argued that the administration’s messaging to Black Americans has not been successful so far. During his time in office, Biden has invested $5.8 billion in HBCUs, as well as made changes to help improve Black maternal health care. Some student loans have also been forgiven, despite the fact that an extensive plan like the one voters had expected has not yet been established.
