(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Following the wildfires in Hawaii which resulted in over 100 deaths President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden visited Hawaii. The visit has been criticized by people on both sides as Biden has remained silent about the devastation faced by the people of Hawaii.

A White House official revealed that during the visit the president is going to be meeting with community members, emergency responders, and many of the survivors while also surveying the area that was burned during the fire which has so far killed 114 people. It is expected that this number will continue to rise as investigators survey the devastated area.

The first couple is set to reach Maui in the morning and they will first start with an aerial tour on a helicopter where they will survey the areas burned by the wildfires before landing in Lahaina. They are then going to visit Lahaina and see the devastation up close before receiving a briefing from local and state officials.

In the statement released by the White House, the President is going to also deliver remarks and pay his respects to the survivors and those who lost their lives in the wildfire. He will also announce that FEMA Region 9 Administrator Bob Fenton will be appointed as the Chief Federal Response Coordinator who will take care of the long-term federal recovery efforts.

In their description of Fenton, the White House noted not only his experience in disaster response but also his presence in Hawaii since day one, noting that he would help expedite the process of providing federal relief to Hawaii.
