President Biden was seen responding to a heckler during his remarks while in Milwaukee on Monday. Reportedly Biden said, “Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot” in his response.
Over Labor day weekend, Biden traveled to Wisconsin where he was meant to deliver a speech during Milwaukee Laborfest. In his speech, he spoke about the recent legislative victories, support of the union, COVID-19 relief policies, and the new bill for domestic semiconductor manufacturing.
During the speech, an individual could be heard trying to stop the speech. It was at that moment that Biden said, “No, no, no, don’t — let him go. He’s, looks, everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”
This is not the first time that Biden has responded to protesters. During a speech in the Independence Hall in Philadelphia on Thursday, a heckler in the audience could be heard shouting “F Joe Biden” and the anti-Biden phrase “Let’s go, Brandon.”
At the time Biden responded that “They’re entitled to be outrageous. This is a democracy.” He also added that they were lacking good manners.
Biden’s visit to Wisconsin is only two months before the November midterm. Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) and Democratic Senate nominee Mandela Barnes are set to have a competitive battle ahead of them against Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Michels and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), respectively.
