(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Despite a federal court recently finding that the Biden administration had violated the First Amendment by pushing social media platforms to censor certain types of content, President Joe Biden has launched new efforts to regulate online speech. Using the U.S. bureaucracy, the administration is going to be targeting those businesses that allow unlimited free speech.
Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, recently revealed one of the ways that the government was being weaponized while testifying in the Justice Department’s antitrust trial against Google. During her appearance in the courtroom, Nadella stated that Microsoft would continue to run their search engine Bing as a “public utility” only if the administration forced everyone to use Bing.
Should the government implement such regulations then they will have the power to control how the search function is used and the results provided. The regulators would also have the right to eliminate certain results from the search function.
Should all Americans be forced to switch to Bing, then Microsoft would be provided with a government-protected search monopoly. However, this move would be extremely restrictive on people using their preferred search engine option.
Currently, there are a number of available search platforms including Google, DuckDuckGo, and Bing among others. However, if the Biden administration proceeded with such a mandate, searches in the United States would become similar to the searches through Bing in China which are limited by the government’s requests on what information should be available.
This is not the first time that Biden has attempted to attack free speech. Previously he had tried to form a “Disinformation Governance Board” to monitor free speech. There is also evidence that Biden had interfered with how the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop was spread.
