Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who never met a Marxist-Leninist she didn’t love, told supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders on Saturday that America was turning into the modern equivalent of Nazi Germany under the leadership of Donald Trump. Apparently not having heard that comparing Trump to Hitler was already overkill in 2016, AOC is still out there trying to convince the world that this transformational, yet constitutionally-adherent president is going to turn the U.S. into a right-wing dictatorship.
Of course, for a woman like Ocasio-Cortez, any government to the right of Castro qualifies as “fascist.”
“It is fascism that we’re evolving into,” she said at a Los Angeles rally for Sanders. “Establishing a loving society in the United States of America – it’s not an irrational, overly feeling, sympathetic statement. It’s the pursuit of an advanced society.”
AOC informed the crowd that an “advanced society” would provide free healthcare and free college for all of its citizens.
“What we are living in now,” she said, “is not an advanced society.”
Exactly. We need to take our cues from Vietnam, Venezuela, the U.S.S.R., and other highly-developed Communist nations where the Great Way has been shown to work out perfectly for the citizenry. Thank goodness we have people like Bernie Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez to shine a light in the darkness of our capitalist nightmare!
“This is about a movement that has been decades in the making,” she said. “We can’t go back to the way things were before, because the way things were before is how we got to where we are now. We cannot go back to a world where the rich are put first and working people are put last in Washington day in and day out.”
Well, here’s another fool who didn’t learn the true lesson of the 2016 election. She proves it right here. Trump wasn’t elected as a natural next stage in the evolution that brought us Barack Obama. Far from it. Trump was an equal and opposite reaction TO the Obama years. AOC’s answer is to go even further to the left, and she doesn’t understand that will swing the pendulum even further back to the right. What kind of president do you think conservative Americans will elect after four or eight years of Bernie Sanders in office? You want to talk about right-wing fascism – we’ll be ready for Richard Spencer to run by that point in the game!
The election of any of today’s Democrats over Trump would be a depressing and dismal blow to the country’s economic prospects, security, and culture. But the election of Sanders (or, to an extent, Warren) would be nothing short of catastrophic. Let us pray it never happens.
