( – The annual Reagan National Defense Survey has shown that the confidence of Americans in the presidency has hit an all-time low during the Biden administration.

The survey found that only 36 percent of American adults had a “great deal” or “some confidence” in the presidency. However, 47 percent said that they did not have “much at all” or only had “a little” confidence in it. This shows a large decrease in the confidence in the presidency since former President Donald Trump’s administration.

In November 2018, 44 percent had stated that they had either a “great deal” or “some confidence” in the presidency. However, the number of people who did not have confidence in the presidency has remained the same since then.

In terms of favorability rates, President Joe Biden only had 38 percent of respondents viewing him favorably, while 59 percent held an unfavorable view of the president. Trump performed significantly better with 47 percent of people having a favorable view of him, while 50 percent had an unfavorable view of the former President.

Biden has had a sharp decline in his favorability rating since February 2021, when his rating had been at 53 percent.

The majority of Republican voters who responded to a question of who they would like to see as the GOP nominee advocated for Trump winning the nomination. While 63 percent want Trump to become the party’s nominee, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had the support of 10 percent while former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley had 8 percent.
