(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Columnist George Will has claimed that Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) should drop out of the 2024 Republican presidential race.

On Tuesday, in a piece for The Washington Post, Will argued that it was the senator’s choice whether he would acknowledge that his campaign has not managed to generate the necessary enthusiasm and leave the presidential race, or whether he is going to become someone who takes advantage of modern-day “rage culture” in order to perform better.

Will then argued that Scott should exit the presidential race. He added that he was backing Nikki Haley, the former United Nations Ambassador in this race. He argued that by promoting Haley, Scott’s dropping out completely changed the political mood in the country. As he pointed out, so long as the GOP continues to have former President Donald Trump facing pursuers that are not performing well, there will not be a binary choice in this election. However, he further argued that if Trump is made to face an adversary who is experienced, there will be an important choice for those in the country to make.

Both Haley and Scott are far behind former President Donald Trump in the polls. On Monday, Former Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) exited the presidential race and instead expressed his support for Haley’s presidential bid.

Will further stated that his wife Mari Will, who was one of Scott’s advisers in his campaign disagreed with the opinion he had expressed.
