According to Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, American liberals have a “hidden reason” for wanting to see the Electoral College abolished. In his “Talking Points Memo” segment this week, the conservative star said anti-white racism was a big part of the movement.
“If the Electoral College were abolished, presidential candidates could simply campaign in the nation’s largest states and cities, New York, L.A., Chicago, Houston, and rack up enough votes to pretty much win any election,” O’Reilly said. “That’s what the left wants. Because in the large urban areas and blue states like New York and California, minorities are substantial.”
O’Reilly said that liberals were highly interested in taking power away from “the largely white rural areas in the Midwest and the South” so that Democrats would have a breezy waltz into the federal government.
“The left sees white privilege in America as an oppressive force that must be done away with,” he said. “Very few commentators will tell you that the heart of liberalism in America today is based on race. It permeates almost every issue.”
Well, race and every other “minority” group in the country. And while there may be few commentators willing to talk about it, it’s patently obvious to any American who pays the slightest attention to politics. Democrats don’t just pander to minorities; they spend much of their time and energy creating new minority groups. The LGBT “community,” for instance. Whatever your skin color, sexual preferences, gender, or religion, the left will find a way to put you in a group and tell you that you’re being oppressed. Once you buy into it, you learn that only Democrats can protect you.
And at the end of the day, it’s all one big illusion. To the extent that Democrats actually help the minority groups they created, it’s by designing brand new “rights” like gay marriage. Or the “right” to stay in the country after you came here illegally. Or the “right” to vote, even if you have no credentials.
Democrats do not actually care about these minority groups because these minority groups don’t actually exist. Sometimes, when it suits their argument, they’ll even admit it. That’s when you hear that race and gender and so-forth are just “social constructs.” So…it’s all phony…but the oppression is real…but your identity is imaginary…but you are part of a group that must fight for equality…
The point isn’t to make sense, though. The point is to get votes. If Democrats could legally ban white men from voting, they would do it in a heartbeat.
Getting rid of the Electoral College is the next best thing.
