CBS News Foreign Correspondent Lara Logan may soon be joining ex-CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson on the independent circuit, because that’s what happens when you pull the curtain back on your own industry. We’re sure more than a few executives at CBS are quietly mulling their options this week after Logan sat down for an online interview with podcaster Mike Ritland about the state of the news business in 2019. They don’t like to see one of their “own” wander off the reservation, and it is an unpardonable sin for any journalist to admit that the majority of news outlets veer overwhelmingly to the left.
In the interview, Logan told the former Navy SEAL that “the media everywhere is mostly liberal, not just the U.S.” She said that simply looking at voter registration proved the point.
“Visually, anyone who’s ever been to Israel and been to the Wailing Wall has seen that the women have this tiny little spot in front of the wall to pray, and the rest of the wall is for the men,” Logan said. “To me, that’s a great representation of the American media, is that in this tiny little corner where the women pray you’ve got Breitbart and Fox News and a few others, and from there on, you have CBS, ABC, NBC, Huffington Post, Politico, whatever, right? All of them.
“And that’s a problem for me, because even if it was reversed, if it was vastly mostly on the right, that would also be a problem for me,” she continued. “My experience has been that the more opinions you have, the more ways that you look at everything in life.”
Alas, the media and the Democrats are only concerned with diversity when it comes to skin color and sexual orientation. Ideological diversity is not a concept they believe in.
Logan said that the media’s bias led to a “distortion” when it came to President Trump’s press coverage. “There’s no gray,” she said. “It’s all one way. It doesn’t match real life. Something’s wrong.”
It’s pretty shocking to see a full-fledged representative of the mainstream media admit to these things, even if they are as obvious as the sun in the sky. We wonder how long it will be before Logan is forced to issue some kind of “apology” on Twitter where she insists that her comments were taken out of context.
Either that, or, like Attkisson before her, she may find that her stories wind up on the cutting room floor more and more often. There is a price to be paid for betraying The Resistance. The Wizard does not like to be exposed.
