Just when we think the stink of the Trump/Russia investigation can’t possibly grow any worse, the evidence of just how nasty and despicable this conspiracy was becomes that much clearer. What we’re looking at is nothing less than one of the most astounding attempted political coups in the history of the United States – one that is, even now, being aided, abetted, and covered up by the liberal news media. This is something that will be written about in history books for hundreds of years to come: The year the Deep State tried to pull a fast one on the American people.
We thought what we knew about senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr was already bad enough. We learned from reports this week that Ohr had been demoted from his sweet gig at the DOJ when it came out that he had not disclosed his relationship with Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the infamous (and fake) Trump/Russia dossier. Ohr turned out to have known Steele for years, information he didn’t bother telling anyone as the FBI began using the dossier – which was nothing more than Clinton-funded opposition research trash – as the basis for a criminal investigation into the Trump campaign.
Now, though, we learn that Ohr’s ties to the dossier are so much worse than we could have imagined. If this were a novel, we’d accuse the author of stretching believability beyond the breaking point. Unfortunately, as they say, truth is stranger than fiction.
From Fox News:
A senior Justice Department official demoted last week for concealing his meetings with the men behind the anti-Trump “dossier” had even closer ties to Fusion GPS, the firm responsible for the incendiary document, than have been disclosed, Fox News has confirmed: The official’s wife worked for Fusion GPS during the 2016 election.
Contacted by Fox News, investigators for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) confirmed that Nellie H. Ohr, wife of the demoted official, Bruce G. Ohr, worked for the opposition research firm last year. The precise nature of Mrs. Ohr’s duties – including whether she worked on the dossier – remains unclear but a review of her published works available online reveals Mrs. Ohr has written extensively on Russia-related subjects. HPSCI staff confirmed to Fox News that she was paid by Fusion GPS through the summer and fall of 2016.
So now we have proof that a senior official in Obama’s Justice Department had secret meetings with the guy who wrote this insidious piece of trash known as the dossier. And we know that said official’s WIFE actually was employed by the company that paid for the dossier – using money, we also know, that came from the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign. And we know that this dossier was responsible for triggering the FBI’s investigation into “collusion” in the first place. How is this not the first story – nay, the ONLY story – on the front pages of every major newspaper in the country?
Oh, right. We know the answer to that, too.
