Several high-profile companies have dropped their affiliations with the National Rifle Association over the last couple of weeks, caving to pressure from Hollywood celebrities, teenagers, and the rest of the left’s coalition against guns. Acting in such a way that would appear to blame the NRA for walking into a high school in Parkland, Fl and blowing young students away, the companies ran for the hills at the first sign of trouble. On Saturday, in an uncompromising statement, the NRA let those companies have it.
“Some corporations have decided to punish NRA membership in a shameful display of political and civic cowardice,” said the NRA. “The law-abiding members of the NRA had nothing at all to do with the failure of that school’s security preparedness, the failure of America’s mental health system, the failure of the National Instant Check System or the cruel failures of both federal and local law enforcement.
“In time, these brands will be replaced by others who recognize that patriotism and determined commitment to Constitutional freedoms are characteristics of a marketplace they very much want to serve,” the statement continued. “Let it be absolutely clear. The loss of a discount will neither scare nor distract one single NRA member from our mission to stand and defend the individual freedoms that have always made America the greatest nation in the world.”
We have to admit, this is a pretty awesome way to confront this meaningless boycott head-on. When have you ever seen a company or an organization respond to liberal pressure like this? Hell, there’s only one man who responds like this to an onslaught of mainstream media BS, and he’s in the White House. It’s good to see that the NRA is led by folks who share Trump’s backbone. God knows it is just what’s needed in this climate of fear and lies.
The companies that have chosen to disassociate themselves with the NRA brand have ever right to do so, but they may wish they hadn’t. They may soon realize just why it is that the NRA is so powerful. Here’s a hint: It has nothing to do with the relatively paltry amount of money they funnel to Republicans and it has virtually zero to do with the gun industry. It has everything to do with the fact that their members are among the most politically-engaged Americans in the country and they vote with their wallets. Long after liberals have moved on to something else…long after the media has danced away to the next “Trump scandal”…NRA members will remember the companies that caved under leftist pressure.
And they will not soon be forgiven.
