Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, whose name is often thrown around when talking about future Republican presidential candidates, said Monday that every conservative American should be fully aware of a new and dangerous fact about the political scene: “2020 was the year socialism went mainstream.”
In a series of Twitter remarks, the former South Carolina governor said that socialism is a “dangerous ideology that has failed everywhere it has been tried and ruined countless lives.”
“It is,” she continued, “on its way to becoming the default economic policy of the Democratic Party. This terrifying trend threatens the future of every American.”
Haley wasn’t done yet. She went on to note that the defining truth about the Democratic Party has been laid bare as a catastrophe for the country.
“The left believes that government knows best,” she wrote. “If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that when govt dictates how the economy is run, Americans suffer. With the Biden admin set to take power, now is the time to renew the fight for capitalism.”
Haley also posted an article from her Stand for America site in which she explained how Biden’s presidency sets the stage for a renewed fight against the malignant forces threatening to take the country by storm.
“With the Biden administration set to take power, now is the time to renew the fight for capitalism and opportunity for all — and against socialism and its suffering,” Haley wrote. “Now is the time to rally our fellow citizens to ensure that every American can achieve their dreams and bring our country and people to new heights of achievement. The only way socialism wins is if we don’t show up. So let’s show up, stand up, and speak out, for the sake of America’s future.”
Unfortunately, the left has gotten awfully slick about the ways in which it sells socialism to the public, and they are particularly effective in spreading that message to the young. Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter is getting to the people that Bernie Sanders wasn’t able to reach. If there’s a third leg of propaganda, you might look to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has proven that among her many faults, a failure to understand the power of social media is not among them. To say conservatives will have their hands full beating back these messages is to put it mildly.
