All over the country, incumbent Republicans and challengers alike are running ad campaigns as they gear up to defend or take Senate and House seats in November. If these Republicans really had a hand on the pulse of America, they would go ahead and cancel those ads and replace them with commercials that simply play Lindsey Graham’s fiery speech against Democrats from Thursday’s confirmation hearing. Because Graham, love him or not, said everything that needed to be said about these loathsome individuals on the left.
“If you wanted an FBI investigation, you could have come to us,” Graham said, visibly outraged at his Democrat colleagues on the Judiciary Committee. “What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020. You’ve said that, not me.”
Correct! Sen. Mazie Hirono said as much in an interview this past week.
“When you see Sotomayor and Kagan, say hello, because I voted for them,” Graham said of the two Supreme Court liberals. “I’d never do to them what you’ve done to this guy. This is the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics, and if you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn’t have done what you’ve done to this guy.”
Graham turned to Kavanaugh. “I cannot imagine what you and your family have gone through.”
He then turned his wrath back to Dianne Feinstein and her co-conspirators. “Boy, you all want power,” he said. “God, I hope you never get it. I hope the American people can see through this sham, that you knew about it and you held it. You had no intention of protecting Dr. Ford. None.”
The whole thing was one of the most powerful condemnations of Democrats we’ve ever heard in the halls of the Senate, and it should be played again and again for voters who still think both of these parties are the same. They aren’t the same. Yeah, they’re the same when it comes to a lot of the pandering and corruption and wasting of taxpayer money. Yeah, they’re the same when it comes to a lot of the big-picture, insider-Washington nonsense. But when you dig beneath the surface and you see who these people really are and what they stand for? It’s night and day.
Only one party organized and orchestrated this sick charade for the sake of blocking President Trump’s nominee. Only one party thought it was acceptable to try and ruin a man’s life because he might – MIGHT – have a different opinion on abortion. Only one party is this evil, to divide the country even further in the name of gaining just a little more political power.
Voters need to know the true nature of the left, and Lindsey Graham did a fine job pointing it out.
